Bellbrook Fishing Report week ending 1st November 2013
Yes Autumn has definitely arrived at Bellbrook. The woods are giving a beautiful display of colour to our anglers.
The weather has become much cooler this week with the temperature dropping for the evening session and lowering the temperature of the water over night. So, inspite of the continued bright sunshine during the day, the fishing has been getting more and more consistent as the week passes.
Effective flies have included the Daddy Long Legs, Damsel, Montana and white fritz.
Robin Trusler from Woolavington near Taunton had a productive half day on the normals catching 3 fish for 7lb. Robin was using a damsel on a floating line with 6lb tippet.
Rob Salter from Ottery St Mary also had a half day ticket but opted for the Specimen/Normal mixed ticket. He managed his three fish for 8-8 and noted his best fly was an Orange Daddy fished just beneath the surface.
Brian Stockwell from Nailsea opted for the all day Rover Classic and managed three of his 4 fish limit for 12-6. With a best fish weighing in at 5-8 – caught on a Daddy - the Stockwell household will have enough trout fish cakes for a while!
Mike Stocianka from Clevedon also took the Rover Classic but managed to catch his 4 fish for 12-9. He also used a Daddy just 4” below the surface.
Andy Osborne from Cullompton had three fish for 9-4 and managed to catch all three fish on different flies, a Daddy, a damsel and an Orange Fritz. His best fish was 3-10 which out of the normal lakes is a monster!
