After much thought we have decided not to reopen the fishery for Trout fishing for the foreseeable future.

Bellbrook Fishing Report week ending 19th July 2013
Another beautiful week and again better catches being made early morning or later in the afternoon/evening.
Returning fisherman Mike Clayton from Shaldon, chose the Rover Classic ticket enabling him to fish all the lakes, he caught 3 out of his 4 finding the Daddy Longs Legs working best for him.
Most anglers this week were finding they had to fish a little deeper to get bites and a variety of flies were tempting the rainbows . . . Buzzers, Viva and the Bellbrook favourite, the Damsel.
The specimens were playing hard to get all week but the normals were being pulled in on a regular basis. Garry Takle from USA, Alan Selwood from Notingham and Paul Davis from Newton Abbot enjoying the fruits from the Exmoor, Ottmoor and Sedgemoor Normal lakes.
This time of year the pond weed goes into growing overdrive so there's constant cutting to be done, not an easy job with the amount of trees and foliage surrounding the lakes. The easy option would be to use chemicals but Bellbrook still uses the old fashioned manual method of ropes and cutting saws being sunk and moved slowly across the bottom of each lake. It's labour intensive but well worth it to keep our environmental impact as small as possible.
We're considering making one of our lakes a 'Super Specimen' and would appreciate any feedback on info@bellbrookfishery.co.uk.
