The weather has finally broken and while it isn’t warm the sharp cold snap seems to have released us from its grip. The fishing conditions have been variable with some coloured water after heavy rain but mostly fairly clear.

Bellbrook Fishing Report week ending 8th November 2013
A wet, windy week which obviously put people off spending a quiet days fishing. But still there was a couple of hardy individuals who braved the elements. New comer, David Hants, from Torquay, being one of them. He visited a couple of time this week and pulled out a couple of 2lb and a 2½lber in total which wasn't bad going for a novice.
Green still seems to be the preferred colour choice of flies whether that be mixed with a bit of black, brown or white. Jon Saunders from Sampford Peverell had a cracking day hooking two from the normal lakes and three from the Specimen ones. He found a white and green fritz on the bottom worked best for him.
Jo Anderson from Cheriton Fitzpaine also made a welcome return this week, he came to use his half price Rover Classic ticket, £18, for a days fishing and managed to bag three rainbows.
And Oakford locals Sean Mayer, Derek Boldry and Paul Marcus mading a fleeting visit one afternoon as part of a mini competition they were having between the three of them. Sean arrived ahead in the competition after a mornings clay pigeon shooting. A montana seemed to be the favourite fly but unfortuately only Derek was to catch a fish that visit . . . did it end up as a draw then????
