The warm weather has made the middle section of the day hard work for fishing this week but the mornings and late afternoon/evenings has continued to produce some good sport.
Bellbrook Fishing Report week ending 11th April 2014
Another excellent week at the fishery and this time accompanied by lots of primroses and daffodils brightening the place up. Now that the temperature has increased the fish are more active in the higher parts of the water column and you can sense that it won’t be long (weeks) before they are taking off the top – the best fishing of the year.
Rob Hunter from Thorverton had a successful morning on the normals catching 2 fish for 3 – 4 on an Olive Damsel.
James Dunston from Cullumpton also had a normal ½ day ticket catching 3 fish for 7-5 on a wet daddy longlegs – a bit early for the season but if it works .....
David Somerfield of Cullumton took one of the new 4 specimens tickets (recently reduced to £32) and had a 4-14, 4-12 and 5-0 on Ironmill – David said he was catching mid to top water on a slowly retrieved damsel.
John Floyd of Bicester took a 5 fish normal day ticket and bagged up with 8-10 in total.
J Deakin of Bristol tried our new 2 hour ticket on the normals and netted a nice 3-4 and 2-12. His tactics were a dark olive buzzer fished at 6 feet.
David Hill of Ideford caught a lovely 5-6 on the specimen lake using a black nymph. The rest of the bag totalling 10-10 taking two more fish from the normals – he was grinning from ear to ear!
